BREAKING NEWS: The Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of two COVID-19 positive patients overnight.
The Compass has learned the two individuals, a man and woman, were hospitalized and investigations are being conducted into the details surrounding both cases.
Health officials are expected to release further information related to the COVID-19 cases during a press conference in the capital at 5:00pm today.
The two latest cases push the number of deaths in the country to three.
At last report, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was at 24 in The Bahamas. A nine-year-old girl is among the three new cases confirmed yesterday and 244 people were said to be in quarantine.
In the meantime, health officials are reminding the public to adhere to the Emergency Powers (COVID-19) Orders to stay at home and practice social distancing to reduce the spread of the virus.
