Famed American Photographer Bill Cunningham said it best, “Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life,” and Inspired Creations CEO Shavonne Rolle is transforming the sterile look of face mask fashion.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic swept across nations worldwide, people have been required to wear face masks to reduce the risk of contracting and spreading the virus, which has affected the health of more than 3.5 million people globally.

Looking and feeling stylishly comfortable in a medical-grade mask can be difficult, especially for essential workers, those engaged in business transactions and running errands throughout the community.

Readily putting her creativity to good use, Rolle has customized a line of breathable, fashion-forward Inspired Creations Face Masks that is receiving rave reviews from adults and children alike.

The Inspired Creations Face Masks feature a myriad of cartoon characters, sporting franchise logos, inspirational quotes, and affirmations as well as African Ankara prints, which are double-sided, machine washable and durable Rolle revealed.

“Initially, I designed the masks for family and friends, who were not interested in the typical bland look of a traditional face mask but instead wanted something that reflects their style and personality,” she said.

“I made use of fabrics that bear the logos of NFL sports teams, Ankara prints, children’s favorite cartoon characters and more. Friends and family who received them were so pleased with the masks that they began telling their loved ones and my Inspired Creations Face Masks line was born.”

And she has never looked back.

“The demand has been great and the testimonies from my clients have been amazing because while wearing the masks is a requirement that many are trying to adjust to, they can now comply in comfort and style,” said Rolle.

With careful attention to detail, Rolle revealed, one mask can take approximately 30 to 45 minutes if she sews freehand however, by utilizing a sewing machine that time can be significantly reduced.

Pointing out the fact that the face masks are cost-effective, Rolle revealed children’s masks cost $6.00 and adults $8.00, which many of her clients attest is quite affordable when one considers that each has a good quality, style and is customizable.

“Truthfully, we are going to be wearing these masks for a while and its best that we are comfortable in them and, I thank God for blessing me with the gift of creativity and allowing me to put my hands to good use in this regard,” she said.

The entrepreneur noted that while her masks are for sale, she is considering making Inspired Creations face masks for essential workers who are out on the frontlines every day.

“Masks that are customized to their style and comfort and in a small way pays homage to them for all they have done and continue to do for us all,” Rolle noted.
